Shouzan is famous for the Kyoto Kitayama weave and dye. The silk thread is hand spun from the silk cocoons that grew up eating the young leaves of Mulberry shoots on Mt. Akagi. It is characterized by removing only the minimum amount of impurities during the refining of raw silk to bring out the natural flavor in the hand weave. The elegant pine design is gently and carefully finished in the Yuzen style.
